Think of our space as a year-round summer camp where your furry family member will form friendships, engage in activities that keep their body moving and their mind sharp, participate in themed days and events, enjoy tasty dog-safe snacks, dress up at our photoshoots, show off their artistic skills with arts and crafts, and so much more.

We like to keep each day fresh and exciting so that our space remains engaging to our regulars. However, the core wellness areas that we keep consistent at daycare include:

• Exercise – Regular activity is important for your dog’s health and longevity, so we encourage movement during their day with our play equipment and team-led activities. Our daycare dogs take up to 60k steps a day, which is beneficial in maintaining cardiovascular health, weight, and muscle/joint strength.
• Learning – Dogs learn from observing their surroundings, so providing an enriching environment that stimulates their mind is important. At Dogtopia of Houston - Waugh Drive, we regularly organize brain games to strengthen problem-solving skills.
• Socialization – Exposing your pup to new environments and expanding their friend circle are excellent ways to help them develop confidence and ease anxiety. As they interact with their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever), they learn how to communicate better and tap into their natural pack instincts.
• Play – As you know, dogs love to play. At Dogtopia, we provide a supervised space for them to play securely and with others who match their playtime vibe so that it’s easier to have a positive experience, which will keep them wanting to come back.

Susan, our General Manager, has been with Dogtopia for 14 years and is an expert at all things canine, so you can rest assured that our facility is in safe, qualified hands.

We offer half-day and full-day daycare options, which can be convenient depending on your schedule. Our weekly wellness plans are also a stellar option if you want consistent daycare for your pup. Because dogs thrive on routine, treating them to daycare on a weekly basis allows them to look forward to it and, of course, receive the benefits regular daycare provides.

Our overnight guests experience the benefits of daycare during the day and our comfort and care in the evening. Whether you need a dog-free home for the night or you’ll be out of town for a longer stay, our facility will be your pup’s home away from home.

As for our dog spa—that’s for all things pampering! Our team of professionals will help your pup stay on top of their hygiene routine with services ranging from baths to nail trims to teeth brushing and more.

When we constructed our indoor daycare facility, we paid close attention to the details to prioritize a comfortable and safe space. Our smaller pups get the main character treatment in their own playroom while our older, larger breeds stick with their like-minded pals. The dogs that fall somewhere in between? We have a playroom for them, too! Pet parents can rest assured that their furry family members can feel comfortable being their best selves among those who match their playtime temperament—something a busy dog park can’t promise.

Our playrooms also include:

• Advanced HVAC systems to provide clean air throughout our facility. Our DOAS system preconditions 95% of the air from outside every 11 minutes to make the playroom environment fresh and ensure circulating clean air.
• Floor-to-ceiling walls rather than partition walls or chain-link fences (like other facilities may use) to create a soundproof space for pups to focus on their friends rather than those in nearby rooms.
• Compressed rubberized flooring protects our daycare guests’ joints, hips, and paw pads. It is also non-absorbent and odor-resistant, so it’s easy to clean quickly.
• A double barrier door creates a stand-by entrance space before dogs enter or leave their playroom. Adding this allows our team the chance to prep pups before all the fun they’ll have, and it creates extra security between the playrooms and our main hall.
• HD webcams are in each playroom to create a direct connection between you and your pup at daycare. During playtime hours, our livestreams are available only to pet parents with a dog in our care on our free mobile app and website.

Our outdoor play area is a bonus to our facility, which our pups love. Just like our playrooms, we created a secure outdoor space that only allows dogs from each play group in at a time. Outdoor time is ideal during nice weather. Plus, we have a webcam outside, so you never miss the playtime action.

To keep our facility looking its best, our team maintains Dogtopia’s cleaning protocols, which are set by an Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist. We sanitize all playroom surfaces twice each day with pet-safe, non-toxic cleaning products, ensuring your furry companion is never subjected to harmful chemicals.

Dogtopia of Houston – Waugh Drive has earned certification status as a Heroes for Healthy Pets^TM facility. The Heroes for Healthy Pets^TM  Certification Program in Infectious Disease Management provides training for preventative care, including strategic vaccination, and cleaning and disinfection protocols to help maintain disease-free facilities and keep pets healthy.
