Great staff, webcam to view my dogs and my dog is always excited to go.
Always friendly and welcoming. Location is clean !
friendly staff, that cares greatly for the dogs. The groomer is excellent
I absolutely love all the ranges of activities accessible to the dogs – especially the crafts and photos the dogs do where we come home with an item Scout created in some way. I swear he looks SO happy and proud of himself for bringing home his craft or picture!
He loves the attention from the coaches, the structured play. I know he loves it because if we mention the word ‘daycare’ he goes crazy with excitement and always has a smile on his face going in and coming home from his days experienced at Dogtopia Applewood.
It would be really great to know that what’s advertised on the Dogtopia specific location’s calendar DiD in fact happen – whether it was the Bubble Party that was advertised to be taking place a certain day, or the Dog Massages that were advertised to be taking place another day. Sometimes I’ll come in and the people I speak to seem ‘unsure’ as to whether a certain event happened or not, or if my dog received a massage. It’s just that I bring him in for specific days that I want my dog to benefit from, as I can only afford the 2-day per week ongoing package.
I’d also like to see that more effort be made to ‘keep’ any leftover food to return back to me, so that I may use it to serve him dinner or a later snack. (Nothing he is fed should be getting wet, unless of course, an accident of spilled water happened nearby him). Like anything, food is expensive, and if he isn’t eating it at home for a meal, I will save it for him to eat at a later time.
A couple of other suggestions of improvement include daily walks that would be INCLUDED in the daily rates. I remember inquiring about this a little while back, and I was informed that that wasn’t a service they provided. I couldn’t quite fathom how a doggy daycare wouldn’t have something like that incorporated into their ‘whole-day’ service. Low and behold, I am only jUst noticing that certain locations (if not all perhaps?) are now offering Dog-Walking Services for an EXTRA COST on TOP of what one’s already paying. I find these costs almost offensive. As a single woman living alone on one income, and a puppy to love and care for when I’m home, I do not have anyone else in the household to care for my dog or perform such services, which is why I actually USE Dogtopia. The rates are EXPENSIVE though, and when I suddenly start noticing all of these extra ADD-ONS for meal toppers and daily walks, I feel rather taken advantage of. The prices either have to become significantly lowered for such add-ons, OR, keep the high-priced add-ons, and bring down your daily rates (all of them), so that those who really dO want to cut costs or pinch their pennies CAN, but those who feel like splurging (either all the time or perhaps) once in a while, can ALSO do so. It would be different if Dogtopia were the kind of establishment that had a lOt more of a boujier type of atmosphere; such as windows with natural light coming into the rooms, or a half-hour walk included in the daily base rate, or rooms that had far more interactive equipment / toys, etc.
And finally, only being allowed to ‘freeze’ one’s account 4 times throughout the ENTIRE year for only one week at a time feels very insensitive.
Alas, that’s a lot of critical feedback, but I wanted to be as thorough and honest as possible. Otherwise, I love Dogtopia! I think it’s a brilliant business idea that tapped into a niche market of terrific opportunity and need. If it could only be a little more ‘accessible’ (financially-wise) for what one’s paying for, that would indeed make it NEXT LEVEL.
Very friendly staff and a good vibe. Professional at the same time. Confident my puppy will be well looked after.
The staff are awesome….however…..
When my boys were there on Thursday I noticed that a dog walked from bowl to bowl to bowl – and all appeared to be empty. This was when the third attendant for the day was in there. My boys came home and ran immediately to the water bowl. I worry that they don’t always have access to fresh water when at day care.
The employees are amazing and clearly love the animals.
Very friendly staff!
