Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dog Groomer to join our team and help build our grooming business! The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong background in pet care, grooming, and handling. As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality grooming services to pets while ensuring their comfort and safety. Your expertise will help maintain the health and appearance of our furry clients, contributing to their overall well-being.

Duties:

• Perform grooming services including but not limited to bathing, brushing, cutting, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs.
• Assess the condition of pets’ coats and skin to recommend appropriate grooming techniques and products.
• Handle animals with care, ensuring their safety and comfort during grooming sessions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs, recommendations, and aftercare.
• Monitor the behavior of pets during grooming sessions to identify any signs of stress or discomfort.
• Collaborate with Dogtopia staff when necessary to address any health concerns observed during grooming.

Skills :

• Proficient in various pet grooming techniques and styles.
• Experience in animal care and handling, particularly with dogs of different breeds.
• Knowledge of animal behavior to ensure safe handling and restraint methods.
• Background in veterinary assistance or as a veterinary technician is a plus.
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
• Certification in pet grooming or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.

Canine Coach 

Day to day Duties 

Supervise playrooms 

• Maintain control of a large group of open play dogs 
• Continuously walk the room to reward positive behaviors and re-direct escalated play 
• Address behavioral issues immediately without the use of force or physical punishment 
• Engage in stimulating, fun, educational activities and games with the dogs 
• Educate the dogs by teaching them to follow basic commands such as sit, down, stay, etc., that will be a benefit inside and outside the playroom 
• Attend to any dogs with special needs 

Clean and Safe Environment -to ensure our furry friends are always in a safe and clean environment we take pride in working as a team to get all the nitty gritty complete 

• Keep playroom clean of messes at all times 
• Daily and weekly cleaning assignments to maintain a clean, safe environment 
• Follow proper cleaning procedures and use of chemicals to ensure a safe environment for both people and dogs 

Health and Grooming 

• Ability to bathe any size dog without direct supervision 
• Ability to clip, or use a Dremel, to trim dog toenails with the assistance of another team member 
• Ability to understand and follow the feeding, medication and allergy lists, without exception, and to ensure that all health standards are met 

Teamwork and Initiatives 

• Ability to work with all team members in a respectful and professional manner 
• Effectively communicates in both an oral and written fashion. 
• Communicates relevant information daily via the activity log 
• Maintains a positive attitude at all times, no exceptions 
• Owns development as a personal responsibility and uses mistakes or challenges as an opportunity to grow to a higher standard of performance 

Qualifications: 

• Must love dogs 
• Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing 
• Ability to work flexible days and hours, including holidays and weekends 
• Ability to work cohesively with others in a fun, fast paced environment 

Front Desk Coordinator 

Day to day Duties 

• Data Entry 
• Creating Pet Parent Charts 
• Greeting EVERYONE that walks in or out of Dogtopia! 
• Understanding Dogtopia’s Retail items 
• Understanding our Dogtopia-isms 

Clean and Safe Environment -to ensure our furry friends are always in a safe and clean environment we take pride in working as a team to get all the nitty gritty complete 

• Maintain and update cleaning schedule, along with holding themselves and team accountable to the Dogtopia’s safety and cleaning standards. 
• Inventory management of cleaning, dog and 1st aid supplies. 
• Dismisses dogs proactively with ongoing behavior issues and monitors action plans to retain those with minor issues. 

Customer Service & Presentation 

• Maintains a neat and organized Front Desk team and area at all times. 
• Sets the example for the team on the 3 S’s (smile, story and satisfaction) and hold accountable to internal and external customer service standards. 
• Answering Phones, emails and questions from Pet Parents 
• Strive for high customer review ratings! 
• ENJOY your team! GROW your team! And PLAY to your fullest potential 

Teamwork and Initiatives 

• Ability to work with all team members in a respectful and professional manner
