Toronto Dog Park Spotlight: High Park
High Park Leash-Free Dog Park is an off-leash area inside High Park that is located between Grenadier Restaurant and the High Park Zoo. This spacious off-leash dog park is an open area and is not fully fenced, so be sure that your furry friend won’t run away as soon as you remove the leash from their collar.
This dog park contains a few large benches and tables near the park entrance, where dogs and pet parents can socialize while their pups romp around and play together. The play area itself contains a sand surface which is nice on your dogs’ paws, but can get really muddy on rainy days. High Park’s leash-free dog park also features plenty of open areas that are connected to off-leash trails, offering an interesting area to take your furry family member on an adventure.
High Park’s leash-free dog park is good option for summer days, as they have a free running hose and puppy pool where your dog can cool off. Although the dog park provides running water, they do not provide waste bags, so it is important to bring them with you to pick up after your furry friend.
Although membership or payment is not required for this dog park, in accordance with the City of Toronto bylaws all dogs must have a valid dog license and must be vaccinated against rabies to attend.
A day at the dog park can be a very exciting and fun experience, however, it is not always the ideal option to provide your pup with socialization and exercise. When the weather doesn’t permit outdoor play, or if your pup just prefers an indoor play experience, consider Dogtopia of Bloor West Village! Our spacious off-leash, open-play playrooms are perfect for pups to burn off plenty of pent-up energy through hours of play and socialization. We also offer short-term and long-term boarding for pups who need a fun-filled vacation!
Also, outdoor play can mean bringing home a messy pup, but thankfully, our spa services will have your dog feeling squeaky clean, smelling fresh and looking like a million bones! Contact us to learn more.
