Our dogs are furry companions that we want by our side, but in those moments when they can’t be, finding a space where they can feel like it is their home away from home is important. Whether you need to be apart from them for a work trip, a family vacation, or situations that require a dog-free home, Dogtopia of Upland can be their safe space.
We like to treat our boarding dogs to a staycation when they’re with us! This is their time to socialize, play, and exercise all day, and have fun instead of being lonely and bored at home. No need to bother neighbors to feed and walk your dog, as our team of doggie experts at Dogtopia of Upland, as well as the other pups staying with us, will give them lots of loving attention in a safe and familiar environment.
Since we require that all dogs staying with us experience a minimum of three days at daycare before their overnight or extended stay, they will already be acclimated to the environment, our staff, and the other dogs at our facility. There’s no need to worry about the stress and shock that some dogs may experience when they board at other facilities.
We go the extra mile to ensure that each dog that boards with us experiences the utmost comfort. But we also want to extend that comfort to pet parents as well, as we understand that being away from your furry family member is not always easy. We’re big on communication at Dogtopia of Upland and want to assure you that your pup is in great hands with our expert team that is passionate about working with dogs. That’s why we offer live webcam access during playtime. Available on our website or free mobile app, pet parents can watch their dog form special bonds with their new furry friends, build their agility skills, and get their daily exercise. Additionally, you’ll be kept informed through emails that summarize each week, filled with photos and videos that highlight the learning, socializing and exercising activities that occurred.
TOP DOG BOARDING FACILITY IN SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY
When boarding dogs stay at our brand-new, modern facility, they experience full days of daycare and restful nights. They socialize with like-minded furry friends, exercise their body and mind with agility and brain games, and learn how to become even greater canine citizens, as our Canine Coaches teach them simple commands and proper behavior around people and other dogs.
Our dogs are separated into one of three playrooms. Larger breeds and more mature dogs are an excellent fit for our Gym, while our smaller friends can enjoy our Toy Box, and pups with more energy are best suited for our Romper Room. This helps us ensure your dog is only around like-minded furry friends, which allows them to form special bonds with each other more easily.
While they play, our highly knowledgeable Canine Coaches supervise the action and help facilitate socializing, learning, and exercise. Experts in doggie body language and behavior, our Canine Coaches are trained to detect even the slightest change in mood and movement and can intervene quickly and compassionately when needed. If a pup needs a break or needs some assistance making friends, our team knows what to do to ensure all of our dogs consistently have a tail-wagging good time.
Our Canine Coaches are also the ones who tuck our boarding dogs in for the night, and that same watchfulness and exceptional attention to detail continues when daycare is done for the day. Our staff is also available to bring your pup to our nearby veterinarian in the event they need unplanned, extra special care.
During your dog’s stay with us, you can choose between our home-style crates or larger private suites. Both are safe and comfortable options, but some pet parents prefer a suite when boarding siblings. That way, they can stay together overnight.
To help make the boarding experience as relaxing and restful as possible, we recommend pet parents bring their dog’s bedding and/or a blanket at drop-off. These reminders from home can make a big difference for a dog staying overnight. You can also bring in their regular food, which we can prepare, or simply choose planned meals, snacks and treats from in-house menu.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN BOARDING AT DOGTOPIA OF Upland
All our boarding dogs are also part of our daycare program. This makes the transition from daycare to overnight stays seamless as your pup is already acclimated to the group! Dogs staying overnight rest well after participating in all day play, which includes a variety of fun daycare activities. From bacon-flavored bubble parties to puppuccino treats, arts and crafts activities, and more, your pup will give it five paws out of five!
At noon, our dogs recharge their batteries to eat lunch and nap in the rooms they just played in, which adds an additional layer of comfort. While we can offer your dog’s food from home, our kitchen also whips up delicious dog meals, such as chicken and salmon bowls, warm chicken broth and chicken broth ice cubes. We also have sides like veggies and pup-a-ronis, and a frozen peanut butter Kong for dessert. Meatballs, bacon, and turkey tacos are also some of the special treats we offer throughout the month.
Around 2:00 p.m., the pups return to playing with their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever) in a freshly cleaned and sanitized playroom. When the end of the day rolls around and our daycare pups are picked up, our boarders can enjoy a bit more play before dinner is served around 7:00 p.m. Then they happily settle in for a restful sleep in their home-style crate, which remains in the playroom they’ve come to know, or their private suite.
To give the full staycation experience, many of our pet parents add a trip to our doggie spa, which offers various services. It is common for our boarding dogs to get a shampoo and condition, as well as a bath time facial, at the end of their stay with us. That way, they can leave feeling like a million bones and you can pick up a clean and happy pup.
BOARDING SAFETY AND CLEANING PROTOCOLS
Before any pup can stay at Dogtopia of Upland, they must pass our thorough evaluation, which we call our Meet & Greet. Led by a trained evaluator, we use this time to perform a snout-to-tail wellness assessment and ensure that our open-play, off-leash environment is ideal for your dog. We also want to meet you and answer any questions you may have about our facility. Pet parents need to feel comfortable with the space just as much as their pup!
Please note that all dogs at our facility must be at least 12 weeks old, with up-to-date vaccinations (i.e., Rabie, Bordetella, DHPP). Dogs that are seven months old and older must be spayed or neutered.
Our playrooms are where your dog plays and sleeps, so it is essential that it remains a safe, clean space. All our cleaning protocols are supported by Dogtopia’s Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist, and we use cleaning products that are 100% safe to use around dogs. Our compressed rubberized flooring in each playroom is easy to clean, and it also aids in long-term hip, joint, and paw health – an important element that is often not considered at other dog boarding and daycare centers.
We have constructed our playrooms with full walls that keep each room separate from the others. This is an intentional choice, as we want to prevent and contain airborne doggie viruses while ensuring our pups focus on one another rather than the dogs in the room next door. The walls are also soundproof, limiting distractions, which makes playtime the main focus.
Each playroom has a UV-filtered HVAC system that takes care of any possible air bacteria and keeps our playrooms climate-controlled. No matter the weather outside, it is always the perfect temperature for dogs to play. These HVAC systems pump a full cycle of air through our dog rooms every 20 minutes, ensuring that there is always good circulation and fresh air.
