OVERNIGHT DOG BOARDING IN FORT MYERS
Your pup will have the Most Exciting Day Ever in our care. They’ll spend their day at daycare, where they’ll have the opportunity to socialize and play with other dogs in our open play areas, supervised by our trained staff. From interactive games to group activities, your pup will have a fun-filled day of excitement and companionship. They will also improve their fitness as they engage in agility-focused exercises and play on our secure play equipment located around our playrooms, which helps build muscle and adds to the 30,000-60,000 steps they log daily.
We also host brain games that strengthen their problem-solving skills, Arts & Crafts activities that let them explore their creative side, bacon- and peanut butter-flavored bubble parties that are always a tail-wagging good time, and periodic themed photoshoots that leave a smile on the faces of our pups and pet parents alike.
We have a set nap time from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., where all dogs can recharge and rest in a quiet and peaceful environment in our home-style crates. Pups will be provided lunch and take any medication their pet parent directs. Our team uses this time to perform a deep clean in our playrooms to ensure all surfaces are sanitized using pet-safe cleaning products.
After recharging, pups resume play, socializing with other dogs in our open play areas, ensuring they have a balance of interaction and relaxation. When our doggie daycare guests are picked up for the day, our overnight boarding pups will enjoy a bit more playtime fun until it’s time for dinner. They’ll then be ready to drift off to dreamland, happily played out, and looking forward to repeating all the fun the next day.
Many of our pet parents schedule a spa trip for their pup during their stay. Our full-service doggie spa is a relaxing space for pups to be pampered with any of our hygiene treatments. From nail trims to facial scrubs to ear cleaning and more, our team of experts will ensure your furry family member feels safe and comfortable in our care.
DOGGIE PLAYROOMS IN FORT MYERS, FLORIDA
Our facility includes 6,664 square feet of play space with four large playrooms. Pups are separated into the playroom that best matches their size, temperament, and play style. Our Gym playroom offers ample space for the larger breeds to run around with their like-minded playmates, while our smaller pups will find the Toy Box a space to be their best doggie selves. Our mature canine friends have a dedicated space in our Lounge, and the Romper Room is ideal for medium-sized dogs filled with playtime energy.
Each playroom includes compressed rubber flooring that supports the long-term health of doggie paw pads, hips, and joints, while our advanced HVAC systems keep the air fresh, clean, and circulating. We separate our playrooms with soundproof floor-to-ceiling walls that eliminate distractions from neighboring playrooms and help reduce the spread of airborne doggie viruses. We also have double-barrier doors to ensure all pups remain safe within our playrooms and do not have the chance to run out into our main hall. Because we’re an indoor facility, we can control the temperature of our playrooms, making for an ideal playtime temperature no matter what the weather is like outside.
To maintain a clean and healthy space for our pups, we sanitize the playrooms, including all surfaces, twice daily, following the expert guidelines of Dogtopia’s Veterinary Scientist and Environmental Biologist. Our cleaning products are free of harsh chemicals, so your furry family member’s air is fresh no matter what time of day.
We understand how important it is for pet parents to stay connected with their furry companions. That’s why each playroom includes a live HD webcam that streams footage to those with a pup attending Dogtopia of Fort Myers. Accessible from Dogtopia’s free mobile app or our website, you can check in on your dog anytime to see all the fun they’re having, offering you peace of mind knowing they are safe and well-cared for even when you’re away. We only turn off our livestreams between 12-2:00 p.m. to ensure pups have the privacy to rest and eat lunch while our team deep cleans the playrooms.
EXPERT CANINE COACHES IN FORT MYERS
We have an incredible team of expert Canine Coaches who are highly skilled in dog behavior and body language. They keep a close eye on pups in our playrooms and maintain fun playtime energy. Our Coaches are responsible for organizing our agility and brain-stimulating games, as well as our tail-wagging fun activities during the day, so they can get to know your dog and help them become an even greater canine citizen.
To become a Coach at Dogtopia of Fort Myers, they must complete a four-part training program with a custom curriculum created by Dogtopia’s Registered Canine Behaviorist. This curriculum has also been approved for continuing education credits by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Equipped with this training, our Coaches can interact with dogs of any size, breed, or play style.
THE BENEFITS OF BOARDING WITH DOGTOPIA
Dog boarding offers several benefits for both dogs and their owners. Here are some key advantages:
- Professional care: When you board your dog, you can be confident that they will receive professional care from trained staff. Our boarding facility has experienced professionals who understand dog behavior, health, and safety protocols. They can provide proper supervision, administer medications (if needed), and respond to any emergencies that may arise.
- Socialization opportunities: Our facility is open-play, so dogs can socialize and interact with others in a controlled and supervised environment. This can be especially beneficial for dogs who enjoy the company of other pups and can help prevent loneliness and boredom during their stay.
- Exercise and mental stimulation: Regular physical activity and mental stimulation help keep dogs active, healthy, and engaged, reducing the risk of behavioral issues arising from pent-up energy.
- Routine and structure: We follow a structured daily routine that includes regular feeding times, exercise, and rest periods. This can be particularly beneficial for dogs that thrive on routine and predictability. Maintaining a consistent schedule can help reduce anxiety and stress associated with being in an unfamiliar environment.
- Peace of mind for pet parents: One of the primary benefits of dog boarding is peace of mind for pet parents. Knowing that your dog is in a safe and secure environment, receiving proper care and attention, allows you to enjoy your time away without worry. We also offer additional services, such as live webcam feeds or updates on your dog’s well-being, enabling you to stay connected and informed.
- No dependence on friends or family: Boarding your dog eliminates the need to rely on friends, family, or neighbors to care for your pup while you’re away. This can be particularly helpful if your loved ones are unavailable or unfamiliar with your dog’s unique needs. Boarding ensures that your furry family member will receive consistent and professional care throughout their stay.
Our dog boarding provides a safe, structured, and engaging environment for dogs, offering exercise, socialization, and professional care. It allows pet parents to enjoy their time away with peace of mind, knowing that their furry companion is enjoying their own vacation. It is also a great opportunity to change up your pup’s routine; even if you’re not away, your furry friend can work on their separation anxiety, boost their confidence, and enjoy the ultimate doggie sleepover with their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever).
To board with us, we recommend your pup attend at least three days of daycare. This allows them to become familiar with our facility, staff, and routine. It also reassures them you’ll always return to pick them up. If any questions arise for you while reading about daycare specifically or boarding as a whole, fill out our convenient online general inquiry form, and one of our team members will reach out with answers.
OUR INITIAL MEET & GREET PROCESS
Before attending any of our services at Dogtopia of Fort Myers, dogs must complete our Meet & Greet. This is an assessment performed by our evaluators that will determine if our off-leash, open-play environment is the right space for each dog.
We will start this process by reviewing your pup’s health history and performing a nose-to-tail assessment to observe any responses to our team’s touch. This is also an opportunity to assess your dog’s comfort level in our home-style crates, which they’ll use for naps during the day and overnight unless you opt for a private suite. From there, we will create a controlled play space with a couple of other dogs from the same playroom your pup would be in. This is our chance to see how your furry friend reacts to being around others—a key component to attending Dogtopia of Fort Myers. Once this assessment is complete, our evaluators will share their results and let you know if our facility is the right space for your dog’s overnight stay.
In addition to our Meet & Greet, your dog must meet some further requirements. They include:
- At least 12 weeks old
- If seven months and older, be spayed/neutered
- Up-to-date vaccination record with DHPP/DHLPP (also known as “distemper/parvo), Rabies, and Bordetella
- In good health and free of communicable conditions (including fleas and ticks) within 30 days
- Non-aggressive or food/toy-protective
