Fort Collins Dog Daycare

It's all about my quality time with BFFFs. You know - socializing, playing and being a smarty pants...sans the pants.

Building and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for your dog is a lot like putting together a puzzle. There are several pieces involved, but they all eventually come together to create the perfect picture. At Dogtopia of Fort Collins, we help complete that picture with activities that target dogs’ physical, emotional, mental, and social health. Just like you, our expert team wants the best for your furry family member, and attending daycare can help provide the foundation for greater overall health and longevity.

PREMIER DOG DAYCARE FACILITY IN FORT COLLINS, COLORADO

When you combine wellness-focused, tail-waggingly fun activities with a team that understands your pup’s needs, the outcome is a doggy daycare experience that provides pups with the Most Exciting Day Ever.

Compared to the 4,000-8,000 steps pups typically take at home, our daycare dogs rack up to 60,000 steps in an 8–10-hour day filled with playing, learning, and socializing. Best of all, it won’t even feel like they’re working on their cardio, as they’ll be focused on all the fun that they’re having with their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever). We have playroom slides and tunnels that create an enriching environment as soon as pups step their paws inside. Plus, they come in handy during the mini obstacle courses our team organizes!

Some of the activities we plan at Dogtopia of Fort Collins include:

  • Themed photoshoots with backdrops and props that make for lock screen-worthy pictures
  • Playroom bubble parties with flavored edible bubbles that float around the room
  • Craft days where pups can channel their inner artists
  • Brain games using treat puzzles or snuffle mats that strengthen problem-solving skills
  • Special treat days throughout the month that result in tail wags and doggie smiles

Check out our events page to see what we have on the daycare schedule!

When pups arrive at daycare, they will join the morning crowd and expend their built-up energy. They’ll participate in agility-focused exercises and mind-stimulating brain games to target their physical and mental health. They will roam around their playroom, meet new friends, and reconnect with the pals they made on previous visits. At noon, they take a break to eat lunch and get a nap in, so that by 2 p.m., they can return to play feeling recharged. When pick-up time rolls around, your happily played-out pup will be ready to sleep—a phenomenon we call the Dogtopia Daze.

A LOOK INSIDE OUR DOGGY PLAYROOMS

We have five types of playrooms at Dogtopia of Fort Collins, separated by size, temperament, play style, and age—we take these four traits into consideration to determine which room best suits your pup. Our playrooms, which represent some of the incredible geographic landscapes in Colorado, include:

  • Lake: This is our puppy/shy dog playroom, great for pups new to daycare and meeting other dogs. You will see softer play in this room as they learn how to just say hi or be around other humans.
  • Peaks: This is for our young adult/older puppies. They are still learning their social skills and proper play signals and receive play breaks to teach themselves how to regulate. Eventually, they will learn to take their own breaks and understand when others need breaks.
  • Beach: This room is for our high-energy young adult and older pups who still have a lot of playtime energy. In this room, you will see dogs taking breaks throughout the day because they know how to regulate themselves, though some will still receive crate breaks because we are teaching them how to self-regulate. This room goes all day.
  • Park: This is our room for older/mature pups. This room is fun to watch because they will go hard for twenty minutes and then rest for twenty minutes in group naps. This room gives play breaks for our older pups to help them have a fun, full day.
  • City: This is our little dog room. Depending on their mood, it’s either a cuddle session or the highest energy room in the building.
  • Outdoor space: We have one spacious outside play yard. Each group will go outside with their playrooms as we never mix rooms to maintain safety.

When we designed each playroom, we paid close attention to the specific health and safety needs of dogs so that our indoor space would be a safe haven for them to feel comfortable and thrive. All our playrooms include:

  • Floor-to-ceiling soundproof walls that separate each room, which limits nearby distractions.
  • Flooring made from compressed rubberized material, which is non-absorbent, odor-resistant, and feels much more comfortable for pups to walk on—their paw pads, hips, and joints will be thankful!
  • Double-barrier doors that create extra space between the playroom and our main hall, which provides an area to get dogs ready for the playroom and prevents them from running out to our hallway.
  • An advanced Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) preconditions 95% of outside air every 11 minutes, allowing fresh air to circulate throughout our playrooms. This not only improves air quality, but it allows us to control the climate of each playroom, so no matter the weather outside, playtime is never interrupted.

Expert canine coaches at Dogtopia of Fort Collins

Among the doggie crowd in our playrooms, you will find our team of Canine Coaches who supervise and engage with pups throughout the day. We try to assign our Coaches to the same playroom as much as possible. That way, they get to know each pup, and each pup will get to know them. Consistency and frequency are the keys to your furry friend’s success, so our team works to get to know your dog’s personality while creating opportunities to meet new friends in a way that’s best suited to their playtime vibe.

Our Coaches undergo a rigorous four-part training program before they work at our facility, equipping them with the skills they need to interact with dogs of any size and breed. The curriculum has been approved for continuing education credits by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. Acting as doggie mind-readers, our Coaches can pick up on small behavioral changes and body language, allowing them to tend to each dog’s needs.

With recurring daycare, our Coaches can provide occasional report cards outlining your dog’s behavior at daycare, the friends they made, and our overall observations. This can be a great way to track your pup’s progress and see how daycare can enhance their healthy lifestyle.

OUR SANITIZATION PRACTICES

Maintaining clean playrooms is a top priority for us. Because Dogtopia has the highest health and safety standards in the industry, we feel confident that the protocols we follow, which have been established by an Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist, are highly effective.

All our playrooms are deep cleaned twice daily, including at noon when pups are in their crate napping, and eating lunch. The cleaning products we use are chemical-free and safe to use around dogs, including our bio-enzymatic spot cleaner for those “in the moment” potty mishaps throughout the day.

DOG PLAYROOM WEBCAM ACCESS

We know being away from your pup can be difficult—even if it’s just for the day. That’s why our facility has equipped HD webcams in each playroom so you can catch all the fun your dog has at daycare from wherever you can access the internet! Our private livestreams are available only to pet parents with a dog in daycare and can be accessed on the Dogtopia website or mobile app.

Please note that we have naptime from 12-2 p.m. where we turn our cameras off, so we can clean our playrooms before pups start playing again.

ADD A TRIP TO OUR DOG SPA

Dogtopia of Fort Collins takes a well-rounded approach to your dog’s health, which includes spa treatments at our modern, state-of-the-art doggie spa. From teeth brushing to baths and more, your pup can feel and look their best. We also offer grooming services from Tuesday to Saturday; our groomer loves to take her time with your pup and really get to know them.

Your first visit to dogtopia of Fort Collins

If this is your and your pup’s first time at Dogtopia of Fort Collins, let us introduce you to the Dogtopia Meet & Greet—a chance for our team to meet you both and determine if our off-leash, open-play facility is the right fit for your dog.

Our team begins with a thorough health history review and a nose-to-tail assessment to make sure your pup is in good health and to identify any touch sensitivities we should be aware of. Next, we create a small play space that acts as a daycare trial run, allowing us to observe how your dog interacts with other like-minded pups. We also check their comfort level in our home-style crates, where they would nap during the day and sleep overnight.

By the end of this 20-30-minute evaluation, we will share our overall observations with you and let you know whether your pup is ready for daycare or if they need more time before joining. Throughout the process, we’re here to answer any questions you have about our services so that you feel as comfortable in our space as your pup will.

Click here to schedule a Meet & Greet online.

Dogtopia has also implemented a set of requirements in addition to the Meet & Greet that all pups must meet, which include being:

  • At least 12 weeks old
  • Vaccinated with an updated record, including Bordetella, Rabies, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as distemper/parvo)
  • Spayed/neutered if seven months and older (also dependent on development)
  • In good overall health
  • Free from any communicable conditions (e.g., fleas, ticks, etc.)
  • Non-aggressive or food and toy protective

Please note that your dog may be required to receive the Canine Influenza vaccine prior to daycare. However, our team will inform you beforehand if this is a requirement at this time. If you have any questions about our requirements, please contact our team at 970-305-5715 or fill out our online inquiry form to receive more details.
