Dogtopia rose 17 spots from its 2020 ranking of 71 to land at 54 on its 2021 Franchise 500® list. In spite of the challenges franchises experienced as a result of the pandemic, Dogtopia held strong continuing to grow the business, a reflection of how the $99 billion pet industry is not only recession-proof but also pandemic-proof.

Entrepreneur scores eligible franchisors based on more than 150 data points, including brand strength, financial stability, growth, support and cost. Those with the highest cumulative scores became the Franchise 500.
