Haywood Road Dog Daycare

It's all about my quality time with BFFFs. You know - socializing, playing and being a smarty pants...sans the pants.

What’s your dog’s daily wellness routine? At Dogtopia of Haywood Road, we help South Carolina-based pet parents add more physical and mental stimulation to their furry family member’s day to enhance their overall health and wellbeing. Maintaining an active lifestyle is key to promoting longevity and reducing obesity and other health conditions. However, with busy schedules, finding the time to provide an enriching environment with enough physical activity is not always easy. When you bring your pup to Dogtopia of Haywood Road, you can rest assured that our skilled, dog-loving team will strive to make your pup happier and healthier.

Daycare dogs enjoy fun agility-focused exercises like mini obstacle courses that keep them entertained as they strengthen their paw-eye coordination. Our playrooms include secure play structures, such as slides and ramps, which can improve their strength and balance.  We also have puzzles and brain games to flex their mental muscles as they improve their problem-solving skills. During the 8-10 hours of play, Dogtopia dogs average up to 60,000 steps, a testament to the cardio-boosting opportunities at daycare. We keep pups active and boredom-free in our off-leash, open-play indoor doggy facility.

Rather than staying in a crate for most of the day like at some daycares, we make sure our daycare dogs have the freedom to roam and play in our secure, supervised playrooms and only spend time in a home-style crate for lunch, naptime, or when they need some “me time” during the day. As they play, they bond with their fellow canine pals or, as we like to call them, their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever). Adding socialization to their day helps boost their confidence as they make furry friends, and it allows them to work on their comfort in unfamiliar environments, which creates better behavior and responses outside of daycare. We also host occasional photoshoots, arts and crafts days, and playroom bubble parties that your pup can enjoy with their daycare pals.

Depending on your schedule, we have half and full-day daycare options, or you can choose from one of our wellness plans, which allows you to pick how many times your dog comes to daycare each week. There are several benefits to choosing one of these plans, but one of the biggest pros is that it allows dogs to have a structured routine.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT DOG DAYCARE IN GREENVILLE, SC

Itinerary: When they first arrive at daycare, your pup will join the morning crowd, ready to expend their energy and engage in the activities we have planned. At noon, we break for lunch and naptime, and this is a chance for our daycare dogs to recharge their playtime batteries. They’ll nap alongside their friends in home-style crates in the same playroom they spent the morning in. Doing so helps ensure familiarity and comfort while reducing anxiety, as they know they have other pups nearby.

For lunch, we will prepare the food you bring from home and will also use this time to administer any necessary medication, as directed by the pet parent. At 2 p.m., after enough time has passed for proper digestion, they are back to all the fun they had in the morning half—playing, learning, exercising, and socializing. When pick up rolls around, your furry family member will be happily played out and ready to snooze. We call this the Dogtopia Daze!

Our playrooms: Unlike some of our competition, you will find a meticulously kept playroom for your pups. Our indoor playrooms have rubber floors to help protect your dog’s paws and promote hip and joint health; the playrooms are kept at a cool 68 degrees with fresh air being constantly pumped in through a hospital-grade HVAC system that kills airborne bacteria; we have soundproofed walls that eliminate distractions; and we use a double barrier door for controlled entries and exits. We pride ourselves on the safety and cleanliness of our playrooms and sanitize them with dog-safe cleaning products, all of which align with the protocol set by Dogtopia’s Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist.

Our modern, state-of-the-art facility includes two spacious playrooms: the Beach for smaller breeds and the Park for larger dogs. We separate pups like this so that each can play with like-minded pals who match their size and play style. We also have a secure outdoor space for pups to play in when the weather is nice, and we rotate the playrooms separately so that each daycare dog remains with their familiar group and is not intimidated by dogs of different sizes or temperaments.

Expert Canine Coaches: Our professionally trained Canine Coaches are dog lovers who bring their own pups in for daycare while working hard with your dogs. You can expect our team to not only supervise your furry friend but interact with them so they can get the most out of the activities we have planned.

Whether it be helping them “break the ice” with others, assisting with agility activities, organizing brain games, or giving the love and attention dogs deserve, our team has it covered. You can also expect to receive occasional doggie report cards that outline how your pup’s day went and the friends they made. It’s a great way to see your pup’s progress as they come to daycare more often!

ADD A TRIP TO OUR DOG SPA

Dogs deserve all the love and pampering in the world, and our dedicated spa team is fully prepared to provide them with luxury treatments. Does your pup need a bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, or a haircut?  Our team of spa experts, including groomer Ashley Singleton, will pamper your pup. You can make spa appointments during their daycare stay or book one-off treatments while you run errands.

LIVE HD WEBCAMS IN EACH DOGGY PLAYROOM

While in open play, you can watch your furry friend on your mobile phone or PC, no matter where you are, as long as you have an internet connection. Our webcam livestreams provide an inside look at what your pup is up to and provide valuable insights into how your pup behaves and interacts with other dogs when you’re not there.

DAYCARE REQUIREMENTS

Dogtopia has implemented a list of requirements all pups must meet before attending daycare. If you have any questions about these requirements or want to learn more, please feel free to reach out to our team via our online inquiry form.

Each dog at Dogtopia of Haywood Road must be:

  • A minimum of 12 weeks old
  • Spayed or neutered if seven months and older
  • Free of any contagious conditions (such as fleas or ticks) for at least 30 days
  • Showing no signs of aggressive behavior or resource guarding (i.e., with food, toys, etc.)
  • Up to date with their vaccination record, including Bordetella, Rabies, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as distemper/parvo).

Please note that the Canine Influenza vaccine is recommended; our team will let you know whether this is required before attending daycare.

Every dog must also successfully complete Dogtopia’s Meet & Greet assessment, which takes around 20-30 minutes. During this time, our team will get acquainted with your pup, answer any questions you might have, give you a tour of our facility, and determine if our open-play, off-leash dog daycare is a good fit.

Our evaluators will conduct a thorough health history overview and nose-to-tail wellness check to determine if your pup has any touch sensitivities. We will also set up a mini play area with like-minded dogs to observe your dog’s interactions and assess their comfort in our home-style crates for chilling and napping. We’ll wrap up this assessment with our observations, and we will either approve your dog’s start at our facility or suggest waiting a bit longer before trying again in the future when your pup becomes more comfortable with other dogs.

Request a Meet & Greet at our location using our online form.
