why choose an indoor dog daycare?
Houston’s weather can be unpredictable. Our play model, which includes four spacious indoor playrooms that separate dogs by size and play style, offers your pup a full day of play regardless of the heat, cold, or rain. Plus, our rubberized, non-absorbent flooring makes for easy sanitization and is gentle on dogs’ paws and joints while they play.
With floor-to-ceiling walls that separate each playroom, pet parents don’t have to worry about bigger dogs intimidating smaller pups during play. Compared to one shared playroom, which you might find at other doggy daycares, Dogtopia dogs can feel confident being their best selves in a room chosen just for them.
Our advanced HVAC systems allow us to control the temperature in our facility. Our DOAS system preconditions 95% of outside air every 11 minutes, allowing fresh, circulating air to move throughout our playrooms. This creates a clean and comfortable environment for pups to play, learn, exercise, and socialize.
We have included safety features to secure each playroom, such as double barrier doors that create a separate space between the playroom and the main hall. We also have live HD webcams in each playroom, so not only can we keep tabs on your furry family member, but you can also catch all the playtime fun no matter where you are.
Because we’re primarily an indoor facility, our team of expert Canine Coaches can more closely monitor your pup and provide our boarding guests quality care into the evening. Experts in doggie body language, they can pick up on the different behaviors of our daycare goers and encourage socialization and play to help boost their confidence. Our Coaches must pass an in-depth, four-part training program approved for continuing education by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. You can feel confident that your pup is in qualified hands.
At Dogtopia of Houston - W. Alabama Street, our modern, state-of-the-art facility is equipped to help give your furry family member the Most Exciting Day Ever as they bond with their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever) and engage in all the fun activities our team has planned.
Although we are primarily indoors, we also have two outside play areas—one for larger pups and one for smaller ones. This space is for dogs to enjoy for a small period of the day, weather permitting. We keep these spaces just as clean and secure as our indoor playrooms so your dog can get the best of both worlds!
OUR FOUR PILLARS: EXERCISE, PLAY, LEARNING & SOCIALIZING
- Exercise: Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important for dogs to boost their overall wellness and longevity. Keeping active plays a big role, but with pet parents’ busy schedules, finding the time to create an enriching, dog-friendly environment with movement-focused activities can be difficult. At Dogtopia of Houston - W. Alabama Street, we have secure play structures, such as slides and ramps, throughout each playroom to encourage play and strengthen muscles. Meanwhile, our Coaches plan agility exercises, such as mini obstacle courses and behavior-based games, like follow-the-leader, that keep pups’ paws moving.
- Play: Dogs love playing, and our facility provides a perfect place for them to do so. As they move their way around their playroom, they’ll interact with their fellow daycare pack and learn valuable socialization skills. We also hold occasional bubble parties with doggy-safe flavored bubbles that pups love to chase and chomp on, themed photoshoots with props and backdrops that make for the most adorable photos, craft days where pups can unleash their inner artist, tasty snack days, and more.
- Learning: Although we’re called a doggie daycare, our playroom setting is similar to a school. That’s because we provide a mind-stimulating environment where your dog can engage with our brain games and puzzles, snuffle mats, and more. You won’t find idle minds or bodies here! Plus, with our Coaches implementing basic training techniques into their activities, pups are encouraged to display positive behavior and become even greater canine citizens.
- Socializing: Does your pup need to expand their furry friend circle? We can make that happen at Dogtopia of Houston - W. Alabama Street. We love seeing all the adorable bonds our daycare dogs make. Exposure to other canine pals in unfamiliar settings can help your pup feel more confident to face new situations outside our playrooms, making for less anxiety and stress.
DOG DAYCARE, BOARDING, AND SPA OPTIONS IN HOUSTON, TX
Whether you don’t want to leave your dog alone at home during the day while you’re at work, school, or running errands, or you’re looking to incorporate more activity into your pup’s day, you can find the perfect daycare solution here at Dogtopia of Houston - W. Alabama Street.
We offer full and half-day daycare options, depending on your schedule, along with wellness plans that offer a range of benefits, including savings on daycare prices. A regular daycare schedule can provide dogs with comfort in the routine, allowing them to anticipate each visit. With our wellness programs, you can rest assured that your pup will get regular activity and engagement each week.
Planning your next trip or need a dog-free home for the night? Our overnight stays offer a staycation for your pup while you’re away. They’ll enjoy all the fun daycare has to offer during the day and receive quality comfort and care into the evening and overnight as they drift off to sleep in their home-style crates in the same playrooms that they’ve become familiar with during the day. We offer dog boarding options, and those who enroll in daycare at our facility receive priority reservations.
We ask that all dogs who will be staying overnight at our facility have at least three days of daycare under their collar beforehand. This allows them to feel comfortable in our environment and teaches them you’ll always be back to pick them up.
Do you see spa treatments in your dog’s future? Our facility has a team of spa experts who know how to make pups feel safe and comfortable. From baths to nail trims to ear cleaning and more, we’ve got your pup’s hygiene routine covered. Add a spa visit during their day at daycare or book some treatments during their boarding so they can come home fresh, clean, and feeling like a million bones.
PASSING THE MEET & GREET AT DOGTOPIA OF Houston - W. Alabama Street
We can’t wait to welcome you and your furry friend to our facility! Our Meet & Greet is a 20-30-minute evaluation that reassures us that our open-play, off-leash environment is a good fit for your dog to enjoy.
We’ll kick things off with a health history overview and nose-to-tail assessment to identify any touch sensitivities, which our team will note for future reference. Next, we’ll create a mini play area with some like-minded dogs for your pup to interact with. Our team will be there to supervise and observe their behavior and comfort level. We will also use this time to see how they respond in our home-style crates—the same ones they’ll nap in during the day and sleep overnight for our boarding guests.
While this is happening, we will give you a tour of our facility and answer any questions you might have. By the end of the Meet & Greet, we’ll let you know if your dog is ready to join our daycare. If we think they need more time, we’ll provide feedback on what areas they might need to work on. However, if given the green light, your pup can start immediately.
Request a Meet & Greet using our convenient online request form to get started.
