North Overland Park Dog Daycare

It's all about my quality time with BFFFs. You know - socializing, playing and being a smarty pants...sans the pants.

Looking for a way to help your dog lead a healthier and happier life? Dogtopia of North Overland Park has you covered! We promote doggie wellness and recognize the benefits of adding a variety of activities to your pup’s day that support physical health and mental stimulation.

Your furry family member can participate in fun, agility-focused exercises that encourage a healthy lifestyle, engage in brain games that improve problem-solving skills, practice basic training to help ensure they are well-behaved both at home and in public, and enjoy safe socialization as they meet and play with like-minded dogs. Our modern facility offers the tools to help your pup build the routine that they need to thrive.

It wouldn’t be Dogtopia daycare without adding some extra moments of tail-wagging fun into our pups’ day. Our highly skilled, passionate team organizes dog-safe Arts & Crafts activities to unleash the inner artists in our group, holds bubbles parties with bacon- and peanut butter-flavored bubbles for dogs to chase and chomp on, hosts periodic photoshoots with different themed backdrops and props that are sure to break the cuteness meter, and offers tasty treat days that all add up to our daycare dogs experiencing the Most Exciting Day Ever.

At Dogtopia of North Overland Park, you can choose between half-day or full-day daycare options, or you can opt for our wellness plans that promote improved physical and mental well-being on a more consistent basis, resulting in a longer, healthier, and happier life for your pup. Following a daycare routine helps prioritize your dog’s well-being and creates the stability they need to thrive. They will begin to anticipate daycare as they form long-lasting bonds with their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever).

STATE-OF-THE-ART DOG DAYCARE IN KANSAS CITY

Our 6,500 sq. ft. open-play, off-leash indoor facility features three spacious playrooms that allow dogs to have fun while remaining in a safe, secure, and supervised space. During the 8-10 hours of play your furry friend will enjoy during their daycare stay, they will average around 30,000-60,000 steps. Dogs who stay home all day tend to only average 4,000 steps due to inactivity, so achieving this milestone is a major part of your pup’s wellness journey. Keeping this level of activity and movement up does wonders for their physical health, helping them maintain a healthy weight and strong muscles, while the socialization and mental stimulation they receive during these hours can help reduce feelings of anxiety and boredom.

To ensure all of our dogs feel comfortable to fully engage in everything our daycare has to offer, we assign them to a playroom that suits their size, temperament, and play style. This helps encourage friendships with like-minded pups and allows them to feel confident in their own fur.

Our Toy Box is designed for smaller breeds, providing a comfy environment among those sharing their playtime energy. Our larger, more mature breeds are better suited in our Gym playroom, where they have room to play with pals who share their desire for tail-wagging fun. We also have the Romper Room for medium-sized dogs, which provides the perfect setting for the pups who fall somewhere in between and want to keep the good playtime vibes going.

We open the doors to our facility at 6:30 a.m. on weekdays, 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays and 10:00 a.m. on Sundays, so the morning crowd can experience the fun our team has planned in their playrooms. For the first half of the day, pups interact with one another, playing on the climbing equipment and ramps we have secured around the room and feeling like the smarty pants they are by engaging in our brain-stimulating exercises.

By the time noon rolls around, they are ready to chow down on their lunch and take a well-deserved break for some necessary “me” time as they nap in the home-style crates that we have in the same playroom they’ve been in to maintain comfort and familiarity. If your pup is on any medication or follows a specific diet, please inform our team ahead of their daycare visit, and we will be more than happy to follow your directions.

Our pups resume play at 2:00 p.m. and get to enjoy all the fun activities our team has in store for them. By 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and 5:00 p.m. on weekends, our daycare dogs are ready for pick-up, happily played out and ready to snooze. It’s a Dogtopia phenomenon we call the “Dogtopia Daze,” and it’s a great indicator that your pup had an active day—and that you won’t have to take them out for a long walk that evening!

HD WEBCAMS IN EACH DOGGIE PLAYROOM

We know it can be difficult to be away from your furry friend, even if it’s just for a short time. That’s why we’ve installed webcams in our playrooms, so you can keep an eye on your pup as they play, learn, exercise, and socialize. To ensure pups’ privacy during their lunch and naptime, we turn the livestream off between 12-2:00 p.m. Our webcam access, which is only available to enrolled pet parents, is available through our free mobile app or website, and it’s sure to be the highlight of your day!

PREMIER DOG SPA IN KANSAS CITY

Maintaining your dog’s hygiene is not always easy, but our team of spa experts at Dogtopia of North Overland Park wants to change that. We offer a range of services from baths to nail trimming to ear cleaning that will keep your pup feeling and looking their best. Dogs deserve to be pampered, and we are prepared to offer exactly that using our state-of-the-art doggie spa equipment and supplies. Many pet parents opt to add spa treatments to their dog’s daycare visit as the cherry on top of an already exciting day.

SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS AT DOGTOPIA OF North Overland Park

Our focus on wellness extends to our playrooms, as we constructed each one to support the unique needs that our daycare dogs have to ensure they feel their best in our care. The floor they play on is made from compressed rubber that is non-absorbent, easy to clean, provides cushioning for paw pads, and maintains joint health. Rather than using cement or gravel, which can be rough for dogs to play on, our flooring makes the day that much more enjoyable and helps encourage pups to stay active.

Our floor-to-ceiling walls that separate our playrooms are soundproof, which limits distractions and noise from neighboring doggie guests and keeps each pup focused on their friend group and the activities they’re engaging in. Plus, our separate playrooms help reduce the risk of airborne pathogens.

Rather than using chain-link fences like our competitors, keeping pups among their like-minded friends in their own playroom can promote a sense of calmness, as it eliminates the sight of dogs in other playrooms that could otherwise cause barrier frustration. We also have a double-barrier door for each playroom to ensure safe and controlled entries and exits.

To ensure a sanitized playroom environment, we follow the expert cleaning protocols set in place by Dogtopia’s Veterinary Scientist and Environmental Biologist. We perform a deep clean twice a day using pet-safe cleaning products, including during naptime when our pups are in their crates so they can get back to playing in a sparkling environment. For those “in the moment” mishaps, we use a bio-enzymatic cleaner that’s free from hazardous chemicals. We’ve also equipped advanced HVAC systems in each playroom to keep the air fresh and circulating throughout our facility. This also helps us keep our playrooms climate-controlled, which means even during those snowy winter days or humid summers, your dog’s playtime is never interrupted.

Our facility also follows Dogtopia’s Commitments to Safety. They include:

  • 8-10 hours of open play
  • A passion for providing pet parents and their dogs with the best possible experience and service
  • Effective in-store cleaning products created specifically with your dog’s safety in mind
  • A charitable cause that enables dogs to give back to humanity
  • A universal vow to treat your dog as if they are part of our family

SKILLED CANINE COACHES IN NORTH OVERLAND PARK

Your dog’s safety is our top priority; that’s why our team’s training is certified by two nationally recognized associations in canine behavior. To become a Dogtopia Canine Coach, our team completed extensive training to effectively understand doggie body language and behavior, as well as a custom four-part curriculum to ensure they have the necessary skills to handle large groups of dogs of varying sizes, breeds, and play styles.

Our Coaches are by your pup’s side throughout the day to help them become even greater canine citizens. They are both fun facilitators and wellness guides, ensuring that your furry friend enjoys their stay while also learning valuable skills and positive behaviors. There to organize the brain games, agility exercises, and fun activities, our Coaches have your pup’s best interest at heart and will treat them as if they were their own. We implement positive reinforcement techniques and reward good behavior, which can translate into a well-behaved, confident pup in our playrooms and at home.

We feel it is important that pet parents gain insight into their dog’s daycare experience, which is why our Coaches periodically give out report cards that will outline your pup’s day, the friends they made, and some helpful tips for replicating the training we implemented in the playroom at home. The more your pup attends daycare, the more we get to know them, which makes our observations even more personalized to them. Plus, seeing our daycare dogs’ growth at daycare is always so rewarding for us.

HOW TO JOIN DOGTOPIA OF North Overland Park’S PACK

We can’t wait for your furry family member to join the Dogtopia Squad! We welcome dogs regardless of breed and want pet parents to rest assured their pup will be in very capable hands during their time with us. There are some parameters that Dogtopia has established for all locations, including our own, that ensure we maintain a safe facility. They include:

  • All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old
  • Those seven months and older must be spayed/neutered
  • Vaccines must be up to date, including Bordetella, Rabies, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as “distemper/parvo”) and must be administered at least 48 hours before attending daycare, but we highly advise ensuring an immune response, which can take between seven to 10 days. We often recommend the canine influenza vaccine, but our team will inform you if this is required before your dog’s visit.
  • Dogs must be in good health and free of a communicable condition within the last 30 days, including ticks or fleas
  • All pups must be non-aggressive and not food- or toy-protective

Before their first day at daycare, your dog must pass our Meet & Greet evaluation. This is a chance for our team to meet your pup and determine if our off-leash, open-play environment is the right fit for your dog’s needs. The entire evaluation process will only take 20-30 minutes, but we want this to be an opportunity for you to tour our facility and have your questions answered. Here’s a rundown of what you and your furry friend can expect:

  • Health Overview: Our team will review your dog’s health history, perform a nose-to-tail assessment, and make note of any areas your pup might be sensitive to touch. We’ll also check that they are up-to-date on their vaccines and in good physical health.
  • Replicate Daycare: This evaluation is our chance to see how your pup responds to our environment, so we’ll create a controlled mini play space with a few like-minded dogs from daycare and observe their responses.
  • Crate Comfort: Our home-style crates are used during naptime, so we will assess their comfortability in them during this time.
  • General Observations: This evaluation is rounded out with general observations from our team. We’ll let you know if we think daycare is the right fit and will provide the next steps to book. If we find it may not be at this time, we encourage you to come back at a later date once your pup feels more comfortable in a new environment with other dogs.
