How can I be sure my dog’s new toys are safe?
The safety of dog toys can be dependent on the size, age and breed of your dog. Start by picking something that is size appropriate. If your dog’s toys are too small, then they can pose a choking hazard or may require an expensive surgery to remove the toy if it is swallowed. It’s important to monitor your dog while playing with toys and remove any parts such as ribbons, eyes or squeakers that could be chewed and ingested. If it can be easily destroyed, it is not safe!
