Niner

We would like to introduce you to Niner! Niner has been specially trained to assist a veteran living with a disability by helping with daily tasks including turning on lights, retrieving dropped items or interrupting anxiety.

While with his volunteer puppy raiser in Dublin, Ohio, Niner learned important foundational exercises and cues to prepare for professional training and a future as a working service dog. Equally as important, during those 18 months, Niner was exposed to new sights, smells and sounds, from train rides, movie theaters and other animals, to office and school environments, children and more.

Time with his puppy raiser included months of socialization, puppy classes, playtime and LOTS of love. Niner is more than ready to start the next chapter in professional training. Saying “see you later” to his volunteer puppy raiser, Niner will work with one of Canine Companions’ expert trainers to learn the 45 tasks they will use as a service dog.
