MISSOURI’S PREMIER DOG PLAYROOMS
We have a spacious 5400 sq ft. facility with three large playrooms that have been expertly designed to promote doggie wellness. The floors are made from a compressed rubberized, odor-resistant material, making managing those “in the moment” cleanups much easier. This material is also an excellent choice for maintaining the long-term health of a dog’s hips, joints and pads. They need that support if they are on their paws all day playing and exercising! The playroom flooring feels and smells different than the floors in your home, which means it won’t affect house training.
Dogs are assigned a playroom based on their size, play style and temperament to help ensure our furry friends feel comfortable interacting with one another and be their best, most authentic doggie selves. Smaller dogs enjoy our Toybox playroom, medium-sized dogs with a bit more playtime energy thrive in our Romper Room and our Gym playroom is ideal for larger breeds. If your pup is still growing, they can start in one playroom and graduate to another when needed. That way, dogs at our facility are always with a like-minded, consistent furry friend group.
Each playroom has been constructed in a way to meet the needs of dogs, and special attention was paid to the small, although important, details that add up to create a space that your pup wants to be in.
To keep the dogs’ attention on each other and all of the playtime fun they are having, we separated the playrooms with full, soundproof walls rather than dividers like other dog daycares may use. Having floor-to-ceiling walls also ensures that we have proactive control over preventing and containing any doggie viruses that are commonly airborne. Additionally, we have double-barrier doors to ensure our team is always aware of who is entering and exiting, and thwart canine escape artists.
As for managing the things we can’t see, we have advanced HVAC systems that keep our air clean, circulating and odor-free. It also allows us to keep our playrooms climate-controlled, so it is always the perfect temperature for indoor play.
All of our playrooms are deep-cleaned twice a day when pups are resting using pet-safe cleaning products, in addition to our natural spot cleaners, when needed. Daily, our team routinely performs detail cleaning to ensure our playrooms are always safe and clean. We follow the guidelines set in place by Dogtopia’s Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist, which ensures that your pup is always safe from any hazardous chemicals that can be in popular cleaning supplies.
Dogtopia of Four Seasons – Chesterfield has earned certification status as a Heroes for Healthy PetsTM facility. The Heroes for Healthy PetsTM Certification Program in Infectious Disease Management provides training for preventative care, including strategic vaccination, and cleaning and disinfection protocols to help maintain disease-free facilities and keep pets healthy. The program is co-sponsored by the International Boarding and Pet Services Association, National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America, Pet Sitters International, VETgirl, and Barkleigh Productions.
We have also equipped webcams that stream live footage of all of the tail-wagging fun going on in our playrooms. Pet parents have private access and can keep an eye on their beloved family member throughout the day. During playtime hours (except for naptime and lunch from 12-2 p.m.) our live stream is available on our website or free mobile app, making it easily accessible no matter where you are.
ADVANCED SAFETY MEASURES AT DOGTOPIA OF Four Seasons - Chesterfield
Our team of Canine Coaches makes our facility what it is – a safe, fun and comfortable destination for dogs to learn and grow in. You will find our Coaches in our playrooms supervising the pups and helping promote socialization, learning, exercise and play. They also organize our activity days and flavored bubble parties and ensure each furry guest has the best time possible. Because they get to know the pups so well, they can provide periodic report cards to pet parents detailing your dog’s behavior and which furry friends they made that day.
To become an official Canine Coach, they must complete a custom four-part training process, which is approved by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. The curriculum was created by a registered Canine Behaviorist, which ensures our Coaches can manage a large group of dogs of all sizes, ages and breeds. It also means that they can analyze doggie body language and behavior changes and catch any subtle shifts to take the appropriate next steps. For instance, some pups require a quick break during the day, and this “me time” is always provided whenever needed.
An additional step to ensure our facility’s safety is our Meet & Greet assessment, which is our first order of business. Each pup must pass this session in order to attend daycare. Our trained evaluator will be the one to carry out this 20-30-minute evaluation and will determine if our off-leash, open play space is a good match for your dog. After all, we want each pup at our facility to feel comfortable and free to play without worrying about aggression or intimidation from other dogs.
During this evaluation, we will also complete a general wellness check, including a nose-to-tail assessment and a health history overview. An up-to-date vaccination record is required with vaccines including Rabies, Bordetella, DHLPP/DHPP, etc. Please note that all dogs must be at least 12 weeks old, and those seven months and older must be spayed/neutered.
Since this is our chance to meet your pup, we want to familiarize them with our space and the activities we offer. This is why our team creates a controlled mini-play area for them to interact with like-minded furry friends. We will see how they respond, including their reaction to staff interaction. We also test their comfort level in our home-style crates, which is what they will be in during naptime and lunch and overnight for boarding pups.
