Calling all Kansas City pet parents! If you are looking for a go-to doggie destination that combines tail-wagging fun with enriching activities to enhance your pup’s physical and emotional health, look no further than Dogtopia of North Overland Park. Our compassionate and expertly trained team interacts with dogs of all sizes and breeds to create a day filled with socialization with BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever), engaging learning opportunities, agility-focused exercise, and tail-wagging fun playtime. As a result, your furry family member can boost their confidence, improve their overall well-being, and experience the Most Exciting Day Ever in our care.
We offer an off-leash, open-play environment, allowing your dog freedom to roam our playrooms while we ensure that our top-of-the-line safety protocols are always followed. We provide pet parents with half-day or full-day daycare options; whether you want to drop your pup off for a few hours or the entire day, we can meet your needs and schedule. We also have wellness plans that offer a consistent daycare routine for your dog—something they’ll thrive off of because of the structure it adds to their week.
For the times you can’t be by your pup’s side overnight or for an extended amount of time, we offer premier dog boarding as a home away from home. Our overnight stays are a great way to change up your dog’s routine and help them with separation anxiety, while they enjoy a fun sleepover with their furry friend group. If your pup needs a spa day, we also offer spa services as a part of our daycare and overnight stay packages. When you pick up your dog at the end of the day, you’ll pick up a perfectly happy and played-out pup who’s ready to settle down for the night.

STATE-OF-THE-ART DOG DAYCARE SERVICES AND MORE IN JOHNSON COUNTY, KS
Once your pup steps a paw inside our brand-new, 6,500 sq. ft. facility, they’ll feel all the excitement of what lies ahead. The majority of the square footage is devoted to playrooms. Similar to a school that groups students by grade, we have separate playrooms that are designed based on size, temperament, and playstyle. We do this to ensure that all our pups are among like-minded friends who make them feel comfortable to be their best doggie selves.
Our larger breeds love getting the chance to play with dogs who match their playtime energy (and eye level) in our Gym playroom, which provides ample space to run and play, while our smaller breeds enjoy our Toy Box playroom where they can play without being overshadowed by bigger dogs—they get to be the main characters! And for the pups that fall somewhere in between? That calls for our Romper Room, which is ideal for medium-sized dogs that match their playtime vibe.
When we designed each playroom, we paid close attention to the details that would promote safety and comfort for pups. The floors are made from a compressed rubber material that is comfy on paw pads and promotes the long-term health of their hips and joints—it’s like wearing the perfect pair of running shoes! Rather than cement or gravel, we want our pups to look forward to playing and staying active during the day, and our floors offer the comfort and support they need. Each playroom is separated by full, floor-to-ceiling soundproof walls instead of dividers or wire fences. This helps us eliminate distractions from neighboring playrooms so each dog can focus on their own play group and all the fun activities they’re engaging in.
To ensure you never feel separated from your pup, we have webcams in each playroom that let you check in on your furry family member and watch what they get up to at daycare. Our livestreams are switched off during lunch and naptime (between noon and 2:00 p.m.). This ensures our dogs have some privacy as they recharge their playtime batteries. We also perform a deep cleaning of the playrooms during this time, so you can rest assured that you won’t miss out on adorable doggie moments during this temporary pause. Once pups are back to playing, our livestream is available again, which you can easily access using a computer or smartphone. Please note that webcam access is only available to enrolled pet parents.
Maintaining your dog’s health and well-being is our top priority, so we follow the in-depth protocols set by Dogtopia’s Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist to ensure each playroom is maintained at a high quality. All playroom surfaces are sanitized twice a day using dog-safe cleaning products, free of any harsh chemicals. We’ve also equipped advanced HVAC systems that filter and circulate fresh air throughout our playrooms. An added bonus is that we’re able to maintain an ideal playing temperature, making our playrooms climate-controlled and always ready for playtime fun no matter the weather outside.
When playtime is done for the day, our daycare pups are picked up while our boarding guests continue enjoying a bit more playtime and dinner before they drift off to dreamland. We offer pet parents two options for their furry friend to stay in overnight: home-style crates or private suites. They are both comfortable options, but you may opt for a suite for larger dogs or to keep siblings together.
Our full-service spa is a great way to add some well-deserved pampering to your pup’s day. We offer many treatments that can help maintain your dog’s hygiene, such as a shampoo and conditioning, nail trims, teeth brushing, and more.

HIGHLY-TRAINED CANINE COACHES IN OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS
Your furry friend remains under the watchful eye of our expert Canine Coaches, who have the skills to engage with dogs of any size, breed, age, and play style. Our Coaches receive extensive training in dog behavior and body language through a custom, four-part curriculum created by Dogtopia’s Registered Canine Behaviorist, which is certified by two nationally recognized associations in canine behavior.
Throughout the day, our team of Coaches guides pups through socialization activities and training to enhance their behavior and build their confidence. Over time, our Coaches build a relationship with your dog, which makes the experience much more personalized. We also routinely provide pet parents with a report card summarizing their pups’ behavior, including their new friends and valuable training tips to implement at home.
Our Coaches care for pups as if they were their own and are here to offer the skills that can help enrich your dog’s lifestyle and improve their overall wellbeing. After all, dogs deserve to live their best lives for all the unconditional love and care they give us.
THE FIRST STEP: DOGTOPIA’S MEET & GREET EVALUATION
All dogs at Dogtopia of North Overland Park must pass our Meet & Greet evaluation before participating in any of our services. Dogtopia enforces this at each location, as it helps ensure our open-play, off-leash environment is the right fit. While the word “evaluation” may seem daunting, it is nothing more than a chance for our team to review your dog’s health history and observe how they respond to our environment and other dogs as we replicate our daycare setting. This is a great time for our team to answer any questions you might have about our services and take you on a tour of our facility.
We’ll start this process by reviewing your pup’s health history to ensure they are free of any communicable conditions, including fleas or ticks, within the last 30 days and are up-to-date on their vaccines, such as Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as “distemper/parvo”). We often recommend the canine influenza vaccine as well, but we will communicate this to you prior to booking.
After this is complete, your pup will join one of our team members in our evaluation room, where we will observe how they respond without you there. We will also perform a nose-to-tail assessment to identify areas where your dog might be sensitive to touch. If there are, we will take note of them and ensure your pup is always comfortable in our care. Next, we’ll create a controlled mini play area with some like-minded pups from daycare to assess their comfort and interactions—determining how your dog responds to other furry friends is key. Speaking of comfort, we will also introduce them to our home-style crate where our pups rest, eat, and sometimes stay overnight in.
Equipped with these observations, our team will come back to you with their assessment. If given the green light, your pup is ready to join us right away. However, if our team thinks your dog is not ready yet, we’ll share our recommendations, as they are always welcome back once they are ready for this type of playroom environment.
Some additional requirements to attend daycare include:
- All dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age or older
- If seven months or older, they must be spayed or neutered
- Vaccines must be administered by a vet at least 48 hours (seven days preferred) before attending daycare or boarding
- Must be non-aggressive and not food or toy-protective
