DOG DAYCARE IN ORLANDO – LONGWOOD
Our facility boasts three indoor playrooms where dogs can enjoy an off-leash, open-play environment. Averaging around 30,000-60,000 steps per day, our daycare pups enjoy the benefits of an active lifestyle, which is important to their overall health and longevity. But they are not doing it alone – daycare dogs have the opportunity to form bonds with other dogs in a safe, supervised environment that supports their natural pack instinct. A playroom full of like-minded pups provides the best chance for them to learn how to interact with others and become even greater canine citizens.
To ensure the utmost comfort, we separate our daycare dogs based on their size, personality, and play temperament. Our Toy Box playroom is a great fit for our small dogs under 25lbs, our Gym playroom is ideal for larger and more mature dogs, and our Romper Room is for the dogs that fall somewhere in-between, such as medium-sized dogs with a bit more playtime energy. Each playroom provides a safe space for tail-wagging fun with like-minded furry friends, which spaces like a busy dog park cannot always promise.
We had your pup’s best interest in mind when we constructed and designed our playrooms. Our floors are made out of a compressed rubberized material that maintains cleanliness and aids in the long-term health of dogs’ paw pads, hips, and joints. Rather than using fencing or unstable dividers to separate our daycare dogs, we have floor-to-ceiling walls that keep our pups focused on one another, while also preventing and maintaining doggie bacteria or viruses that may be airborne. Each playroom is climate-controlled at a comfortable 65-70 degrees thanks to our HVAC system, which helps keep the air fresh and circulating. No matter how hot it is outside, playtime is always comfortable at Dogtopia of Orlando – Longwood.
To ensure our playrooms remain clean and safe, we follow the protocols set by Dogtopia’s Veterinary Scientist and Environmental Biologist, making us the only national dog daycare brand with this distinction. Our team cleans and sanitizes all surfaces multiple times daily using dog-safe cleaning supplies and swiftly attends to any “in the moment” accidents with a safe spot cleaner.
Being away from your pup is not always easy, even if it is just for the day. This is why we have playroom webcams that live stream all the fun they are having. Catch their adorable smiles and wagging tails, accessible on our website or free mobile app.
EXPERT CANINE COACHES IN LONGWOOD, FL
Safety and quality care are top priorities for us at Dogtopia of Orlando - Longwood, which is why we have our expert Canine Coaches in each playroom to supervise and encourage pups to learn, exercise, play and socialize. Dog lovers themselves, our Canine Coaches are patient and caring with each pup to ensure everyone is safe and having a good time.
Thanks to their extensive knowledge of dog body language and rigorous training designed by Dogtopia’s Canine Behaviorist, our Coaches can detect even the smallest changes in behavior and respond accordingly. They also know how to manage dogs of all sizes and breeds in an open-play setting, which ensures each pup receives the care they deserve. Their training has been approved by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
Since our Canine Coaches are there to supervise dogs throughout the day, they have a clear opportunity to observe how your dog behaves in daycare, how they respond to staff, and the friends they make in our playrooms. All of this is outlined in our periodic report cards given to pet parents. Our more regular daycare goers will also receive further tips that can help pet parents replicate our basic training at home.
WHAT TO EXPECT IN A DAY AT DOG DAYCARE IN Longwood
When your dog arrives at daycare, they will join in on the playroom fun as they get to know their soon-to-be BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever). Our Canine Coaches are there to help make the introductions and will get the pack engaged with brain games to get their thinking caps on and agility-focused exercises to help let out that morning energy they have built up.
Many of our pet parents also pre-schedule a trip to our doggie spa during their pup’s day at daycare for the various treatments we provide. Get them looking like a million bones by the time you pick them up!
OUR MEET & GREET ASSESSMENT
Before arriving for your first day at daycare, your pup must pass our Meet & Greet evaluation. This helps us ensure that an open-play, off-leash environment is suitable for each dog, which helps us promote a safe and comfortable space. This 20-to-30-minute evaluation will include a snout-to-tail assessment by our trained evaluator, who will also take note of any wellness observations. In addition, our team will review your dog’s health history and confirm vaccinations are up-to-date (i.e., Rabies, DHLPP/DHPP, Bordetella, etc.).
Note to pet parents: All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old to enroll in daycare at Dogtopia. Dogs older than seven months must be spayed or neutered.
Our team also creates a controlled mini-play area with some furry friends to determine how your pup responds, and our team will interact with them to assess their responsiveness in this play setting. Since full-day daycare dogs nap in our home-style crates, we also use this time to check how comfortable they are, as we want to ensure they are feeling their best with us.
Our Meet & Greet is also a chance for us to meet you, the pet parent, and answer any of your questions. Our team can give you a tour of our facility and provide greater insight into what daycare is like. After all, we want this to be a positive experience for both your pup and you!
In addition to this initial safety evaluation, Dogtopia follows Commitments to Safety, which include:
- 8-10 hours of open play
- Certified Canine Coaches who are experts in managing and educating all breeds of dogs
- Effective in-store cleaning products
- Brain games designed to identify the smarty pants in the room
- A passion for providing pups and their pet parents with optimal service
- A universal vow to treat your dog like a member of the family
