If you are looking for that “home-away-from-home” atmosphere for your dog when you can’t be by their side, look no further than Dogtopia of Orland Park! We LOVE dogs and will treat yours like family and give them love and positive reinforcement all day long. Safety is always our number one priority, so you can feel at ease while your pup stays with us, knowing that they are under the careful watch and genuine care of an expert team.
BOARDING OPTIONS AT DOGTOPIA OF Orland Park
When you choose to board your dog overnight, you have two different options to choose from to best suit your pup. The first option is a home-style crate similar to one your dog may be familiar with using at home. The second option is a spacious suite, best for siblings who want to stick together overnight or dogs who appreciate privacy. The suites are 4×4 and 4×3 for bigger dogs, while the other two suites are 3×4 and 3×3 for medium dogs and smaller dogs. Pet parents can bring their dog’s beds or blankets when they stay overnight to help their pup feel at home.
While your pup is at our facility, they will be in daycare from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. during the week with a break at mid-day for meals and a nap. Overnight dogs are fed breakfast before daycare starts and dinner after it ends. They are then given time to digest and let out for one last exercise or potty break before getting their well-deserved sleep.
During the day, dogs will enjoy all the enriching daycare activities we have to offer. From brain games to simulate their minds, agility-focused exercises designed to keep them fit, and socialization that builds confidence and forms bonds to Arts & Crafts days, fun playroom bubble parties with flavored bubbles, and themed photoshoots that produce frame-worthy photos, Dogtopia of Orland Park is a boredom-free zone.
Boarding your pup for the first time can be a little nerve-wracking for both the dog and the pet parent. This is why all dogs must complete at least three days at daycare before they can stay overnight. This gives them the time to become familiar with our environment and feel safe and comfortable with our team.
OUR DOG BOARDING SCHEDULE
Consistency creates comfort, so we like to remain on schedule throughout the day so pups can anticipate their routine and feel secure in the familiar activities we have planned.
When our facility opens, your dog will enjoy breakfast before joining our morning daycare group, where they will play, learn, exercise, and socialize in our playrooms. To ensure all pups are comfortable playing with one another, we separate our dogs based on their size, temperament, and playstyle. Smaller dogs will enjoy our Toy Box playroom, medium-sized dogs will be assigned to our Romper Room, larger breeds will play in our Gym, and older dogs will stay in our Lounge.
At noon, we break for lunch and naptime. Pups stay in their playroom but move over to their crates to eat and rest. You can bring your pup’s favorite food if you’d like to keep them on a consistent diet, but we also offer free kibble and several other treats at an additional cost, such as turkey bacon, chicken protein bowls, salmon protein bowls, and peanut butter Kong treats. We’ll also use this break to administer any medication as directed by their pet parent. While the dogs are content eating their lunch and napping in their crate, our team takes this time to sanitize each playroom to ensure all surfaces are clean. We only use dog-safe cleaning supplies to ensure our dogs never encounter harsh chemicals.
At 2:00 p.m., playtime starts back up again, and we press the replay button on all the fun activities our dogs did in the first half of the day. At 7:00 p.m., after our daycare pups have been picked up, we make dinner for our boarding dogs. Once the final evening potty is checked off the list, pups get ready for bed and have a restful sleep, looking forward to all the fun activities we have planned for the next day.
Our full-service spa is a popular addition to our boarding dogs’ stay. We have a variety of treatments that will leave your pup feeling and smelling their best by the time you pick them up.
EXPERT TEAM IN ORLAND PARK, IL
All our employees have gone through multiple Dogtopia training courses, a bootcamp to teach everyone how to interact with dogs in different situations, as well as shadowing canine handlers with more experience until they feel comfortable to fully supervise a playroom. They are all loving people who want the best for your pup. Our managers have many years of both animal care services and veterinary services, so we are ready for all situations.
Our playrooms are supervised under the watchful eye of our Canine Coaches. To take on this role, Coaches must complete a multi-part training program designed by Dogtopia’s Canine Behaviorist, which allows them to gain the necessary skills to understand dog body language and behavior, which comes in handy when working with large groups of dogs.
DOG PLAYROOM LIVESTREAMS AVAILABLE
To catch all the fun your pup will have during their boarding stay, we’ve equipped HD webcams that livestream playtime in each playroom. This can offer peace of mind while you’re away from your dog, and you can easily access from wherever you are on our free mobile app or website. The only time our livestream will be turned off is during lunchtime, naptime, and overnight. This is a pet-parent-only livestream, so only those with pups at daycare or boarding will have access to it.
SAFETY AND CLEANLINESS AT DOGTOPIA OF ORLAND PARK
Since our dogs remain in our indoor playrooms for the length of their stay, we’ve ensured the design of our playrooms was carefully considered. Our flooring is made from a compressed rubber that supports doggie hip, joint, and paw pad health rather than cement or gravel, which some competitors use. It’s also easy to sanitize, which makes those “in the moment” potty mishaps quick and easy to clean. We’ve also separated each playroom with full soundproof walls to keep distractions at bay and prevent any playtime noise from transferring from room to room. Our advanced HVAC system keeps the air clean and circulating throughout the day, allowing us to maintain climate-controlled playrooms all year long.
We perform a deep-clean twice daily to keep our playroom equipment and surfaces sanitized and sparkling. Following the protocols set by Dogtopia’s Veterinary Scientist and Environmental Biologist, we are confident that pups are in a safe, healthy environment in our care.
One of the major steps in maintaining safety at Dogtopia of Orland Park is what happens right at the beginning of the process with each pup—our Meet & Greet. This is a 20–30-minute evaluation where our expert team will check your pup’s health, create a mini-play space to see how they interact with other dogs, and test their comfort level in our home-style crates. Once we observe how your furry friend responds to our facility and team, we will determine if our off-leash, open-play environment is the right fit.
While every breed of dog is welcome at our facility, there are some parameters Dogtopia has set in place, which include:
- All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old
- If seven months and older, they must be spayed/neutered
- Vaccinations must be up-to-date, including popular doggie vaccines like Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as “distemper/parvo”)
- Dogs should be in good health with no communicable illness in the past 30 days
During the Meet & Greet, we will show you around our brand-new 6,600 sq. ft. facility and answer any of your questions and concerns.
You can schedule your Meet & Greet using our convenient online form or call us at 708-778-3880 to speak with our knowledgeable, friendly team.
