The Shire at CityLine Dog Boarding

Home sweet home away from home where I can have my own blanket and doggie personal space.

Can’t bring your dog on a work trip or family vacation but still want them to have the quality care they deserve? Maybe you need a pup-free home for the night or know you won’t be home in time to provide them with the supervision they need. No matter the reason, Dogtopia of The Shire at CityLine can be your pup’s home-away-from-home.

We like to consider our boarding service as a staycation for dogs, as they will enjoy the benefits that daycare has to offer during the day, and quality, customized care into the night. Get the best of both worlds that Dogtopia of The Shire at CityLine has to offer!

Pet parents can choose an overnight visit or an extended stay, as we have something that will fit your schedule, and the option of a home-style crate or private suite for boarding dogs to sleep in. Our crates are similar to ones they may have at home, which adds an element of familiarity, while our suites can be a great choice for larger dogs or siblings who want to stick together overnight. For it to be a space that your pup feels comfortable in, we recommend they attend at least three days of daycare so they can familiarize themselves with our environment before their overnight visit.

TOP DOG BOARDING SERVICES IN RICHARDSON, TEXAS

Your furry family member will have The Most Exciting Day Ever in our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility. When boarding dogs arrive for their stay with us, they will join the morning daycare crowd of playing pups where they will engage in fun agility-focused exercises and brain games that stimulate their mind and strengthen their problem-solving skills. They will also have an opportunity to socialize with other pups. As they form bonds with their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever), they will build the confidence to face unfamiliar situations, while also reducing any anxiety about meeting new furry friends.

All of this tail-wagging fun will take place in one of the three spacious playrooms we have at our facility. We separate our playrooms based on size, temperament and play style as a way to ensure dogs are free to be themselves in a space with like-minded friends. Our “Gym” playroom is where our larger breeds thrive, our “Toybox” is ideal for smaller pups and our “Romper Room” are for the dogs that fall somewhere in between.

Our playrooms are designed with your dog’s needs in mind. Our floors are made from compressed rubber that is odor-resistant and non-absorbent, while also being comfortable on dogs’ paws and joints, which aids in their long-term health. Our playrooms are separated by full walls to keep the pups focused on one another and to help prevent or contain doggie airborne viruses, and we have HVAC systems in each room to keep the air fresh and circulating, while allowing us to keep the room climate-controlled. On sunny days, dogs will get some outside time in a large and secure outdoor area, and we ensure that pups that the like-minded pups that play together indoors will do the same outdoors.

After a morning of play, pups are given lunch at noon to give them the energy they need to continue playing. This is also an opportunity for them to take a well-deserved nap in our home-style crates located in the same playroom, and take any required medication outlined by the pet parent ahead of time. Our team uses this time to sanitize surfaces of our playrooms to ensure they meet the safety and cleanliness guidelines and standards set by Dogtopia’s Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist.

At 2 p.m., once they are feeling recharged, pups are back to playing, learning, exercising and socializing with one another. By the end of the day, our daycare dogs are picked up, while our boarding dogs can continue playing for just a bit longer while our team prepares for their slumber. Pups are fed dinner and are then ready to fall asleep – which is usually in record time since they had a full day of play and exercise. When they wake up, our team feeds them breakfast and the day repeats!

Since boarding dogs are fed three times a day, we recommend that pet parents bring in their dog’s food from home. That way, pups won’t stray from their current diet, and it adds an element of familiarity during their day.

In addition to the wellness-focused activities during daycare, our team also regularly holds doggie photoshoots, Arts & Crafts days, bacon and peanut butter-flavored bubble parties and other fun planned events. Pups will take part in all this fun to make their staycation at Dogtopia of The Shire at CityLine memorable.

EXPERT CANINE COACHES AT DOGTOPIA OF The Shire at CityLine

Our entire team is passionate about working with dogs and we treat each pup that stays with us as if they are our own. Our facility has Canine Coaches who are experts in doggie body language and behavior and can manage large groups of dogs of all sizes, ages and breeds. With a great deal of training that they must undergo, which has been approved by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers and the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, our Coaches are confident in interacting with dogs to help them become even greater canine citizens. They are there to ensure everyone is socializing and taking part in the fun activities we have planned throughout the day, and we work toward strengthening their physical and mental well-being so they can be their best doggie selves.

We also give out periodic report cards to pet parents so they can check in on how their pup behaved during their time away. This provides great insight into their overall behavior and how they respond around other dogs.

ADD A DOGGIE SPA DAY

Nothing says staycation like some R&R! Add a spa treatment (or several) to your dog’s boarding stay with us, so they can feel pampered and look like a million bones! From ear cleaning and teeth brushing to baths using quality, doggie-safe shampoo and conditioner, pups will feel comfortable in the care of our expert spa team.

DOG PLAYROOM WEBCAMS FOR PET PARENTS

Whether it is overnight or for an extended amount of time, being away from your dog is not always easy. This is why we have livestream webcams in each playroom to catch all the action. It will be the cutest thing you see all day!

Using our website or free mobile app, pet parents with a dog in daycare can virtually join the fun during playtime hours. The stream is only off during lunch and naptime (12-2 p.m.) and into the evening (after 7 p.m.).

MEET & GREET EVALUATION

New pet parents at our facility must book a Meet & Greet evaluation for their pup before scheduling any services with us. This assessment won’t take too long, but we want to ensure that we thoroughly check if an off-leash, open play environment is a good match for each furry guest staying with us. In addition, our team will perform a physical wellness check, conduct a health history overview, and ensure vaccination records are up-to-date with vaccines like DHLPP, Bordetella, Rabies, etc.

Please note: All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old to attend our facility, while pups seven months and older must be spayed or neutered.

During this time, we will also check how your dog responds to like-minded furry friends in our mini-play space, observe their comfort level in our home-style crates where they will nap and possibly stay in overnight (if not in our private suites) and evaluate their behavioral cues to help us determine if our space suits their personality and play style. If you have any questions about our facility or the services we offer, please let us know! Our team wants you to feel comfortable in the space as much as your pup does.
