Our newly constructed facility offers over 7,500 sq ft. for dogs to explore, split into three playrooms. Each accommodates dogs of different sizes, temperaments, and play styles, which creates a sense of comfort for each pup to form special bonds with like-minded furry friends. Our “Gym” is great for larger dogs, the “Toybox” is ideal for smaller breeds, and our “Romper Room” is for those who fall in-between, such as our medium-sized dogs or those with higher energy levels.

One of the benefits of having indoor playrooms is that it is always a good time for play time, no matter how hot it is outside. And when your pup arrives back home, you won’t have to worry about them tracking in mud or dirt, which is always a plus. Our indoor playrooms also create a space for dogs to burn more energy because of the multiple furry friends they can play with. Our pet parents appreciate the “Dogtopia Daze” that dogs experience when they come home feeling extra tired from a fun, full day of exciting play and socialization.

When our pups are at play, they are supervised by our highly certified Canine Coaches who encourage socialization and agility-focused exercise while also maintaining playroom safety. Experts in doggie body language, our Canine Coaches can detect changes in mood and behavior, which allows them to maintain control of large groups of dogs. Any issues that may arise are addressed quickly and with kindness, allowing our pet parents peace of mind that our off-leash environment is a safe space for pups to become even greater canine citizens.

To give insight into their time at Dogtopia of San Antonio – Northwest, our Canine Coaches provide pet parents with occasional report cards that include details about behavior, the furry friend group they made, and helpful tips to replicate some of the positive training techniques we employ during daycare.

For those interested in our daycare services, we offer both half- and full-day options, while our boarding packages are ideal for the dogs who need to stay for longer, overnight stretches. Our spa services are also a chance for your pup to fit in some relaxation during their daycare or boarding stay to get them feeling (and smelling) great. We also offer standalone treatments, separate from daycare or boarding packages if you want to bring them by for a quick trip to our doggie spa.

The first step your furry family member will take to join our pack is a Meet & Greet evaluation. This is to ensure our dogs are playing with other healthy, vaccinated, like-minded pups. It also helps our trained experts gain better insight into each dog’s comfort level in our off-leash, open-play environment, as we want every canine guest at Dogtopia of San Antonio – Northwest to have The Most Exciting Day Ever.

During our initial evaluation, we will conduct a health history overview, a nose-to-tail wellness check, observe their comfort level in a home-style crate (used during naptime and boarding), their response to our team and other dogs in a controlled mini-play area, and other overall observations. Meanwhile, it gives pups and pet parents the chance to get to know our facility, making it a more familiar and comfortable place to visit.

Please note that all dogs at our facility must be at least 12 weeks old, with up-to-date vaccinations (i.e., Rabie, Bordetella, DHPP). If you don’t have your pup’s records, we can contact your vet for you. Dogs that are seven months old and older must be spayed or neutered.

Dog safety is a top priority at Dogtopia of San Antonio – Northwest, and a significant part of how we maintain this is by following strict cleaning protocols. Each playroom features compressed, rubber flooring that is both non-absorbent and resistant to odors. This allows us to frequently sanitize and ensure our pups can easily run around and engage with other furry friends without obstruction. This type of flooring is also specially designed to aid in the long-term joint and paw health of our dogs.

We have a UV-filtered HVAC system in each room that offers temperature-controlled play areas, while also minimizing bacteria to keep the air fresh and circulating. Our full walls that separate our playrooms also prevent airborne health issues. While this covers what we can’t see, we then turn to our biologically safe, dog-friendly cleaner that we use to deep clean and sanitize our playrooms multiple times a day. All our safety protocols are backed by Dogtopia’s Environmental Biologist and Veterinary Scientist, making us the only national brand with this distinction.

Dogtopia of San Antonio – Northwest has earned certification status as a Heroes for Healthy Pets^TM facility. The Heroes for Healthy Pets^TM Certification Program in Infectious Disease Management provides training for preventative care, including strategic vaccination, and cleaning and disinfection protocols to help maintain disease-free facilities and keep pets healthy.
