When life gets busy, our furry family members may not receive the exercise, playtime, and belly rubs they deserve in a day – that’s where our family-run daycare comes in. When you drop your pup off at Dogtopia of South Ann Arbor, we will treat them to a fun-filled day of safe socialization with our certified Canine Coaches and their new BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever). Our daycare is a great option for when you are going on vacation, need a dog-free home, are busy at work, or simply just because! No matter the reason, your pup can enjoy hours of furry friend-filled fun.
Here at Dogtopia of South Ann Arbor, our mantra is “We SEE our dogs,” which means we love to socialize, exercise, and educate the dogs within our care. We are happy to provide up to 10 hours of off-leash, open-play a day for our pups. Our certified Canine Coaches encourage dogs to play on our gym equipment, with toys, and with each other, allowing for plenty of exercise and socialization throughout the day. They also lead our pups through brain games, bacon-flavoured bubble parties, and themed photoshoots. At Dogtopia of South Ann Arbor, our daycare dogs learn how to behave in social situations and become more comfortable around new dogs and new people, which teaches them how to be well-balanced canine citizens at home and out in the world.
A SAFE PLACE TO PLAY FOR MICHIGAN DOGS
Our off-leash, open-play environment is a great place for dogs to feel free to run around and socialize with their new friends, while also adding some exercise and learning into their day. Our 5904 sq ft. indoor facility offers 65% playroom sq footage, which is perfect for climate-controlled playtime, while our 1000 sq ft. of outdoor play space makes those sunny days even better!
To maximize the chances of your pup making a lot of furry, like-minded friends, we have three distinct playrooms (the City, the Park, and the Beach) that separate our daycare dogs by size, playstyle, and temperament. This helps create more hyper-focused attention from our certified Canine Coaches, who are experts in identifying different behaviors and signals from a group of open-play dogs. That way, feelings of stress or anxiety from our pups can be quickly identified and resolved.
Each of our playrooms uses HVAC systems that help keep them the perfect temperature and also keep the air fresh and clean. We follow a rigorous cleaning protocol, which involves deep cleaning and sanitization of all of our playrooms multiple times a day using only pet-friendly, biologically safe cleaning products. Our compressed rubber floors were specifically chosen with their health in mind, as we have found that not only are these floors more sanitary, but they are much easier on your pup’s paws, hips, and joints now and long-term.
Before any dog enters our facility, they must pass our Meet & Greet evaluation, which is our chance to make sure they are a good fit for our daycare environment. This includes steps such as an overview of your pup’s health history and a nose-to-tail assessment. We also require that all dogs must be at least 12 weeks of age, up to date on vaccinations, and spayed or neutered after seven months. Following these protocols helps us ensure every dog within our daycare is comfortable in our off-leash, open-play dog center, which helps create an overall safe and fun environment for our pups to play, learn, and exercise in.
ACCESS TO OUR INDOOR AND OUTDOOR WEBCAMS
We know how difficult it can be to be separated from your dog, but while they are enjoying time with their new furry friends, you can help pass the time with our private webcams that are accessible on our website or free mobile app. Our outdoor play yard and each of our indoor playrooms are equipped with webcams, allowing you to (virtually) join in on the daycare activity fun.
WHY CHOOSE SOUTH ANN ARBOR DOG DAYCARE?
At Dogtopia, we believe that every dog deserves daycare. With dog obesity an increasingly serious health concern, we work agility games and enjoyable exercises into our playtime, which helps makes fitness fun. Our certified Canine Coaches are trained to manage and educate dogs of all breeds, and pet parents will receive periodic report cards on your dog’s behavior, who their new furry friends are, and tips to replicate our positive educational methods at home.
For the days when your dog needs to freshen up, especially after hours of engaging play at daycare, pet parents can add a spa treatment (or several) to their dog’s daycare stay. When it’s time for pickup, their played-out pup will look and smell their best.
Dogtopia also has several commitments to safety that we follow closely, which include:
- Spacious, climate-controlled playrooms that are supervised during playtime
- Health and safety protocols guided by a biologist, behaviorist and veterinarian working together
- Effective in-store cleaning products created specifically with your dog’s safety in mind
- Home-style crates for resting, feeding and overnight stays
- Brain games designed to identify the smarty pants in the room and keep dogs engaged
- A passion for providing both pet parents and furry children with the best possible service
- A universal vow to treat your dogs like a member of the family!
