WHAT CAN MY DOG EXPECT AT DAYCARE?

If you are new to doggie daycare, you might expect it to mirror daycare for children—a place where your furry family member is supervised throughout the day until pick-up. At Dogtopia of Fort Worth - Downtown, our team takes the extra step and creates an environment that prioritizes your pup’s health and well-being. Not only can they enjoy a safe, supervised space, but they will grow into an even greater canine citizen by leveling up their physical, emotional, and mental health.

They will be assigned to one of our four spacious playrooms with other pups who match their size, temperament, and play style. Whether they are a small, medium, or large breed, they will hang around like-minded dogs who suit their playtime vibe.

As they take a stroll around the supervised playroom, they’ll meet their BFFFs (Best Furry Friends Forever) and spend the day forming bonds while engaging in fun activities. Our playrooms have sturdy play equipment, such as ramps and slides, that pups can walk up and run on, which is a great muscle-building activity for them to enjoy.

Our team of canine professionals interact with the dogs throughout the day and organize agility-focused exercises, such as mini obstacle courses, that keep pups’ paws moving and tails wagging. Daycare dogs average around 30-60k steps a day, a major benefit for their cardiovascular health and weight management.

At Dogtopia of Fort Worth - Downtown, we focus not only on physically enriching activities but also on mentally enriching ones. With team-led training activities like follow the leader, name recall, and door control, pups can stimulate their minds as they stay active. We also have games that strengthen dogs’ problem-solving skills, such as treat puzzles, in the playroom for pups to try out.

We occasionally hold doggie photoshoots with themed backgrounds and props, which are “hang on the fridge” worthy. Check out our Instagram, where we’ll post some of these adorable pics! We also hold arts and crafts days for pups to flex their artistic muscles. Also on the agenda are bubble parties that involve a ton of flavored bubbles floating around our playrooms—it’s a fun time and a tasty snack for our doggy partygoers!

Dogs thrive on consistent structure and mental enrichment, which our daycare services can provide. We strive to be the best by not only putting our furry companions’ needs first but also the pet parents’ by having an easy drop-off and pick-up.

Weather permitting, we have two outdoor playrooms where daycare dogs can enjoy some time outside. Even though they will spend the majority of their time in our indoor facility, our outdoor play spaces provide a change of scenery and a new environment for our furry friends to discover. Pet parents can rest assured that our safety protocols are enforced both indoors and outdoors.

WHAT MAKES DOGTOPIA’S DOG DAYCARE PLAYROOMS SO UNIQUE?

Our playrooms are designed to benefit each pup in our care. We offer:

• Compressed rubberized flooring, which creates a smoother, more comfortable ground for dogs to walk on, helping protect their hips, joints, and paw pads. It is also non-absorbent and odor-resistant, making sanitizing them a breeze.
• Separate playrooms with floor-to-ceiling walls. Rather than flimsy dividers, which you might find at other doggy daycares, we have soundproof walls that keep pups separate and help reduce auditory and visual distractions from dogs in other playrooms.
• Double barrier doors that create a secure space between the playrooms and our main hall.
• Advanced HVAC systems that allow us to control the temperature in our playrooms. Our Dedicated Outdoor Air System (DOAS) system preconditions 95% of outside air every 11 minutes, allowing clean, circulating air to move throughout our facility.

Our playrooms include expertly trained Canine Coaches who know how to engage with large groups of dogs of various sizes and breeds. The Coaches at Dogtopia of Fort Worth - Downtown have successfully completed a thorough, four-part training program that has been approved for continuing education credits by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.

The advanced skills they have gained, such as understanding doggy body language, allow them to supervise and engage with the dogs in our facility, providing you with confidence that your furry family member is in capable hands.

Our morning daycare goers arrive and enter their playroom ready to expend their energy with friends. By noon, it’s time for pups to take a break and enjoy lunch in their own home-style crates located in the same playroom they just spent the first half of the day in. Is your dog on medication? We will administer it at the specific times that you request.

While pups are chowing down and catching a snooze, our team will use this time to deep clean each playroom and sanitize all playroom surfaces. Because we use dog-safe cleaning products, your pup won’t be exposed to harsh chemicals or fumes.

At 2 p.m., playtime energy is replenished, and dogs are back to learning, socializing, and exercising with their energized playmates. By pick-up, your pup will be happily played out and ready to catch some Zs, likely on the car ride home. Thanks to the phenomenon we like to call the Dogtopia Daze, your furry friend can get a good night’s sleep.

Our live webcams give our pet parents security that their pup is having the Most Exciting Day Ever! Watch your pup make lifelong friendships in our indoor and outdoor play areas as they enjoy fun and supervised play. Our webcams are live any time your dog is out in open play; they only turn off for naptime between 12-2 p.m. and at bedtime after 7 p.m. (for our overnight guests).

Top off an exciting day of daycare with a trip to our doggie spa, which is equipped with the latest tools and products to help maintain your pup’s hygiene and grooming needs. From baths to teeth brushing to paw pad services and so much in between, your pup will look and feel like a million bones!

DOES MY DOG NEED TO MEET ANY REQUIREMENTS BEFORE ATTENDING?

All Dogtopia facilities must check off specific items before attending daycare, including:

• Age: All dogs must be at least 12 weeks old
• Spayed/Neutered: Depending on development, dogs typically need this if seven months and older
• In good health: Pups must be free of any communicable conditions, including fleas and ticks
• Good behavior: Dogs must be non-aggressive and not food or toy-protective
• Vaccinated: Your pup must have an updated vaccination record that includes the popular doggie vaccines, such as Rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP/DHPP (also known as distemper/parvo) *we will inform you whether the canine influenza vaccine is required before your dog attends daycare

If your dog meets these requirements, you can schedule their Meet & Greet with us! This 20-30-minute assessment will tell us whether your pup is comfortable in our open-play, off-leash environment. We will conduct a health history overview and nose-to-tail assessment, create a mini play area with like-minded dogs to monitor how they respond and perform a quick comfort test in our home-style crates, where they’d nap during the day.

If our team finds your furry friend is a good fit, you can start daycare immediately. However, if we feel they’d benefit from a bit more time, we’ll inform you of the next steps.
