Dog Daycare Attendant (“Rover”)

This role will be cross-trained as a Canine Coach. Applicants must love dogs – and, upon successful completion of training, you can even bring YOUR dog to work with you! What a bonus! Successful team members will earn a pay increase upon completion of training after the first 90 days.
Starting pay $11-$12. Successful team members will earn a pay increase upon completion of training after the first 90 days.

Qualifications

Must be 16 years old, minimum
- Must love dogs
- Must understand that dogs in our care depend on you showing up to work on time; attendance & reliability is a MUST!
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to spend up to 100% of work time standing
- The ability to lift heavy pets and equipment
- Ability to “own” a room of dogs
- Ability & enthusiastic willingness to help out in other areas of the business, as needed
- Ability to react to situations that may pose a hazard to the health and safety of dogs entrusted by pet parents to Dogtopia
- Ability to work flexible days and hours, including holidays and weekends (STRONG PREFERENCE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH WEEKEND AVAILABILITY)

Requirements
- Leading dogs from pet parent drop-off in lobby to back of house area, and bringing dogs from back of house to pet parent at pick-up
- Support playroom staff with day to day tasks
- Perform temperament tests with dogs new to Dogtopia
- Effectively, honestly, & professionally communicate results of dog’s visit at Dogtopia to pet parents
- Maintain control of large groups of dogs
- Exercise door control in all rooms
- Have Fun on Camera! (all playrooms are equipped with cameras for pet parents to stay engaged)
- Care for all furry friends as if they were a part of your family
- Engage, Play and Enjoy the furry friends!
- Recommend & monitor action plans for dogs
- Complete all assigned learning paths
- Perform grooming duties (baths, nail trims, ear & teeth brushing, brush-outs, etc.)
- Perform meal prep with little or no guidance
- Organize daycare and boarding belongings properly with correct labels
- Maintain equipment
- Maintain regular cleaning schedule (mopping, sweeping, trash, water refill, etc.)
- Perform laundry duties
- Ensure that dogs entrusted by pet parents to Dogtopia are secure from hazards to their health and safety
- Work as a Canine Coach in playrooms during breaks or as needed to cover shifts
- Assist with any other duties needed, as directed by the GM
The Rover is responsible for working to set the highest standards and satisfaction of safety & cleanliness, while ensuring each dog has the most exciting day ever!
